One of the most important things to keep your pool comfortable, safe and looking good is water chemistry
Ideal levels
We recommend Chlorine to be kept 0.5ppm – 3.0ppm and pH 7.2 – 7.6
Balancing water chemicals can be a fine art, our engineers test the water before applying chemicals. The best place to get a water sample can be tricky, ideally we would take a sample from the pump as its running and this would give us the most accurate sample, unfortunately this is not always possible unless an automatic dosing controller with a sample point is fitted. Generally we have to take samples away from inlets and outlet and as low as our arms can reach.
Throwing large amounts of chemicals in to a pool is known as shocking. If we want to minimise the high chemical levels we need a way of slowly putting them in the circulation system.
Luckily there are many different solutions on the market. From tablet holding dispensers to automatic dosing units.
Tablet dispensers are a great way to control your chemical as they are often filled with slow dissolving tablets and you can restrict the flow through them to make the chemical last longer and regulate the levels. These can be fitted to most pools and take minimal room in the plant room.
Automatic chemical dosing controllers monitor the levels in the pool and adjust as needed, meaning your water stays better for longer. Dosing controllers are not necessarily the cheapest option and they do take up space within the plant room, but they can be a truly useful bit of kit.
Automatic Chemical Dosing
Automatic chemical dosing is not always the answer. It still requires a small amount of maintenance, but in the right hands can be massively beneficial. We have serviced most units available currently and we chose to install the Kuntze units as they have the best units in our opinion, they also offer there cloud connect technology which is greatly beneficial to both the client and us as it allows remote monitoring of the units.
